Haim Bouzaglo
Born in Jerusalem in 1952, Haim Bouzaglo is a well-known and experienced Israeli filmmaker with more than 20 years in the entertainment industry as a director and a scriptwriter. During his career he wrote and directed more than 10 films that won several Israelis and International awards: "Fictitious Marriage" (1988), which received the 1988 Silver Menorah Award in the
categories of Best Cinematography, Editing, Best Movie and Best Director ;"Times for Cherries" (1990), won 4 Israel Film Academy Awards; "Scar" (1994), won 5 Academy Prizes ; "Avia's Summer" (co-writer, 2003), won the Berlin Festival Silver Bear Award and an Israeli Academy Prize ; "Blind Date" (2003), "Distortion" (2004), won the Platinum Remi Award at the Worldfest Houston Film & Video, Best Editor Award at the Syracuse Film Festival in New York, Best Director Award at the Bordeaux Film Festival, France. Public Award at the "Geneva Tout Ecran" Film Festival, Switzerland; "Janem, Janem (The Illegals)" (2005) won at Syracuse Film Festival 2006 (New York) for Best Film, Best Director, Best Script and best Music Awards ; "Side by Side" (2006), a French-Israeli co-production.
Bouzaglo directed several television series, which had all a great success: "Zinzana" (2000) Received the Jerusalem Film Festival Award in 2000 and the 2001 Golden Screen Award; “Ashlayot” (Illusions– 2004); “Shalvah” (Tranquility–2003); “Merhav Yarkon” (The Yarkon District 1999) received the Israeli Academy Award; "Criminal Reports" 2005; "Side by Side" (2007), script Haim Buzaglo & Liza Mamo, Director Haim Buzaglo.
In 2007 he directed a mafia saga titled "Kavod" (Honor) and a psychological thriller, "Session", his first American movie shot in English with Steven Bauer, Tom Bower and Bar Refaeli.
On august 2009, an Israeli-Spanish co-production was shot as the third part of his trilogy of Situation Films ("Distortion" and "Janem-Janem"). The film treats the next murder of the Israeli Prime Minister in a suspense film titled "Blank Bullet".
